Announcing capacity expansion for Bend-EZ® transformer lead-wire insulation
Due to strong demand, Paramount Tube has added new equipment that expands our transformer lead-wire insulating tube capacity. The additional equipment is in place at our Ohio facility and is fully operational. This expansion will help manage the demand increase while also decreasing lead-times.

Paramount Tube manufactures both transformer lead insulation and core leg insulation. Both products are made to the highest standard and use premium materials. Our core leg insulation is a great way to save time and labor by using a pre-formed core. This saves setup time and offers strong mechanical stability which can help eliminate rework.

Insulation Engineered for Superior Performance, Reliability, and Flexibility
Electrical transformers are critical components in the electrical power system, and both oil-filled and dry-type transformers require excellent insulation to function properly. The insulation must be able to withstand the high voltages, temperatures, and mechanical stresses that are generated as a result of the electrical current flowing through the transformer. A defect in the insulation can lead to catastrophic failure of the transformer, resulting in damage to the transformer and potentially to the surrounding equipment.
To further expand our capabilities and capacity for these components, Paramount Tube has made a sizable investment in new equipment. This equipment is custom designed in-house and informed by a century of experience. With this new equipment, Paramount Tube will be able to produce even higher quality insulation products and meet the growing demand from customers.
The Bend-EZ® Advantage
In addition to our core products, Paramount Tube has also introduced a new product called Bend-EZ®. Bend-EZ® is a spiral-wound tube product made with electrical grade crepe paper that is optimized for use in power and distribution transformers. Our spiral-wound construction allows for maximum flexibility while maintaining durability and resisting tearing or splitting. This makes Bend-EZ® a time-saving product that is extremely easy to use.
Bend-EZ® can be used as sleeves for interconnection of terminals, and the flexible crepe paper tubes have a higher rate of absorption of oil, ensuring higher dielectric strength compared to conventional SRBP (Synthetic Resin Bonded Paper) tubes. This makes it an ideal choice for applications where high dielectric strength is important. Bend-EZ® is available in a variety of standard sizes or can be customized for a specific application. This makes it easy for customers to find the right product for their needs.
